With the current state of emergency surrounding the global pandemic, we saw a need to help the community through our distribution channels. Our goal is try to bring some normalcy to our current situation and help reduce the risk.
Our first consideration when designing the face masks is safety. As former researchers, emergency room and hospital residence, we understand the need for a good, safe and reliable mask. The Mask needs to fit well, protect from airborne elements and stay on the face.
The key element in our design of the mask is user compliance. As mask does no good when its left hanging on the rear view mirror. We want the wearer to be excited to put the mask on and for it to be an essential piece of their wardrobe. If it looks like a diaper on the face, or makes the wearer look like they just finished paint spraying a car - the mask won't be worn.
Our continual pursuit of creating a beautiful mask never ends, we will be continuously creating new styles and new versions that are not only safe, but we ourselves, would be excited to wear.
There is a lot of buzz going around when it comes to face masks. We understand how filters work and what they claim to protect. As former researchers working in level-3 laboratories, we also understand the practical use and functional aspects of masks.
Key points that we often forget to ask: can we reuse certain masks? how long can we use certain masks? are these masks practical for the application we need?
We created a reusable and washable mask that fits well around the face and creates a proper seal - air enters the wearers mouth as it passes through the mask and the filter.
The Masks use various layers of filters - we looked at filters for function and user compliance. Based on our studies, we opted to use a filter comprised of: copper woven fabric; two layers of high-quality non-woven fabric; two layers of meltblown fabric; and one layer of activated carbon fabric.
To continually improve and to further validate the previous studies, the masks and the filters will be tested by a third party, which will certify the mask with a filter value.
With a team of Dermatologist in-house, we took the building of a mask one step further - optimizing the mask to maintain skin fitness. Each fabric is reviewed for a number of factors in an effort to minimize the chances of skin irritation and break outs.
Reduce your exposure to viruses, bacteria, pollution and other particulate matter.
Respiratory viral infections transmitted through air droplets. By filtering the inhaled air one can reduce the risk of infection and reduce person to person spread.
This unique high-performance antimicrobial microfiber construction filters out close to 100% of microscopic particles while supporting the body's natural cooling system. This technology is highly breathable and easy to clean and maintain.
Multilayer filter system. First, fitted with a 100% pure carbon cloth: originally developed by the UK Ministry of Defense for protection against chemical, biological and nuclear warfare. Followed by a PM2.5 filter which blocks particles atmospheric particulate matter. Third and most important - our unique Copper Filter layer. Copper filtering technology has been shown to have direct antiviral property. A recent review from the Smithsonian showed that SARS-CoV-2 virus, which can last up to 2 days on plastic or metal, disintegrates soon after landing on copper surfaces. And finally, a non-woven outermost layer – repels fluids and decreases condensation within the mask!
Soft woven cotton allows for natural breathability and non-irritating light feel on the skin.
Founded by Dermatologists, the Face Masks had to meet the stringent criteria to minimize breakouts, skin damage and irritation. Reducing your risk for pollutants and viral infections should not include sacrificing your beauty and your skin. The materials chosen for the Face Mask are light, moisture wicking and non irritating.
We also offer a number of skin care products that will help further reduce the chances of breakouts and skin irritation. Our ExAcne Product is a perfect complement.
The Face Masks are only good when they are actually worn. Wearability is a key component to reducing exposure to pollutants and viruses. Masks that are bulky, heavy, and cause laboured breathing will more often than not, remain at home or hanging on the rear view mirror. We created a Face Mask that you will wear, even for that quick trip to get gas or coffee.
Our masks are light, easy to put on, and are made of materials that are soft on the skin.
During these trying times we cannot forget to protect the environment. Our reusable Masks eliminate the impact of disposable masks. It is only a matter of time until discarded masks overrun our landfills and wash up on our shorelines.
We cannot rest on our laurels. If there is an effective method of viral protection that also protects the environment - that is the choice we need to take.
The Face Masks are designed for day-to-day use of the general public. The Face Mask should be used to help reduce the risk of respiratory infections when interacting with the greater community: while out to the grocery store; in line at the bank; sitting on the train or at the bus station. Face masks reduce transmission of airborne viral particles by physically blocking respiratory droplets and aerosols from reaching the mouth and nose.
The Face Masks are to be regarded as another means of reducing the chances of infection. We recommend that wearers of the Face Mask continue to limit their chances of infection through washing and sanitizing hands regularly, avoiding large groups and maintaining social distance. For additional measures to inhibit the spread of COVID, refer to the CDC guidelines.
The Face Mask is not suitable replacement for standard surgical masks or N95 filters. If the intended use is by to be used by members of the healthcare team when providing direct care. Although the PM2.5 filter has been shown to be more effective than the standard surgical mask, the Face Mask is not a replacement to an N95 filter or a surgical masks.
The Face Mask is not intended to act as a medical device or used in the medical practice as an alternative to N95 masks or Level 3 masks. Derma Research Group Inc. makes no warranties, either express or implied, that the Face Mask prevents infection or transmission of COVID or other viruses or diseases.
