With the current state of emergency surrounding the global pandemic, we saw a need to help the community through our distribution channels. Our goal is try to bring some normalcy to our current situation and help reduce the risk.
Our first consideration when designing the face masks is safety. As former researchers, emergency room and hospital residence, we understand the need for a good, safe and reliable mask. The Mask needs to fit well, protect from airborne elements and stay on the face.
The key element in our design of the mask is user compliance. As mask does no good when its left hanging on the rear view mirror. We want the wearer to be excited to put the mask on and for it to be an essential piece of their wardrobe. If it looks like a diaper on the face, or makes the wearer look like they just finished paint spraying a car - the mask won't be worn.
Our continual pursuit of creating a beautiful mask never ends, we will be continuously creating new styles and new versions that are not only safe, but we ourselves, would be excited to wear.
There is a lot of buzz going around when it comes to face masks. We understand how filters work and what they claim to protect. As former researchers working in level-3 laboratories, we also understand the practical use and functional aspects of masks.
Key points that we often forget to ask: can we reuse certain masks? how long can we use certain masks? are these masks practical for the application we need?
We created a reusable and washable mask that fits well around the face and creates a proper seal - air enters the wearers mouth as it passes through the mask and the filter.
The Masks use various layers of filters - we looked at filters for function and user compliance. Based on our studies, we opted to use a filter comprised of: copper woven fabric; two layers of high-quality non-woven fabric; two layers of meltblown fabric; and one layer of activated carbon fabric.
To continually improve and to further validate the previous studies, the masks and the filters will be tested by a third party, which will certify the mask with a filter value.
With a team of Dermatologist in-house, we took the building of a mask one step further - optimizing the mask to maintain skin fitness. Each fabric is reviewed for a number of factors in an effort to minimize the chances of skin irritation and break outs.
